Xavi picks up his UEFA pro license which allows him to coach

If you’re a Barcelona fan, you’ve definitely been looking for some good news other than rumours about Griezmann and Matthijs de Ligt. Well there you go. Its right here.

Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandez collected his UEFA Pro license on Friday, which allows him to start his career as a coach. The former Barcelona midfielder hung up his boots on May 20 at Al Saad in Qatar, the club that offered him his first chance to coach.

Xavi picked up his diploma at the RFEF sports city. Along with Xavi, Victor Valdes, aúl González, Xabi Alonso, Joan Capdevila, Julio Baptistao, Esteban Cambiasso, Albert Riera, Pablo Amo and current active player Eli Ibarra picked up their licenses.

Given how Barcelona’s previous campaigns have gone especially in the Champions league, mist Barcelona fans would want to hear that he would be taking over the helms as the new club manager from Ernesto Valverde. However that is not the case.

Xavi has been looking forward to starting his career as a coach and one day hopes to sit on the bench at Camp Nou calling the shots.

His former team-mates like Carles Puyol have already backed him to take over Barcelona in the future.
