Match Report
The match started well and Argentina was on the front foot for the first fifteen minutes but could get through to the final third of the pitch. They failed to control and press when necessary and it cost them dearly.
Argentina escape a scare in the 29th minute as a result of some last-ditch defending, as Colombia were attacking in numbers on the break.
However a different side came out on the second half with a different approach and just when you thought okay maybe their goal was coming, a stunning hit and colombia lead! 1-0 courtesy of a goal out of the top drawer from Martinez! Very similar to the goal Everton scored for Brazil last night, Martinez bursts down the left flank before cutting inside onto his right and blasting a sensational finish in at the far post!
Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata came in as a substitute and secured the win for Colombia, linking up with fellow substitute Jefferson Lerma to make it 2-0.
The Argentine squad can take positives from the match but would need to win their next match against Paraguay on the 20th of June.
The squad lacks experience especially in midfield and would need to press more as well as be more creative in the middle of the park.

Certain players tho should be commended. Leandro Paredes, Nicholas Tagliafico,Giovanni lo Celso and Lionel Messi should be commended.
People are so desperate to be edgy and take away any credit from Messi that they’ll jump at any chance to do so, without actually watching him for Argentina.
Jamez Rodriguez,Duvan Zapata,Roger Martinez, Davison Sanchez and Yerry Mina were the standout names for Colombia today. The industry James produces for his team is world class and exquisite.
To summarize the match, Colombia had an excellent first half and a very lucky second half, meanwhile Argentina had a tough first half and a heart breaking second one.
