Manuel Neuer has signed a new three-year contract with Bayern Munich, keeping him at the club until June 2023.
Manuel Neuer joined the German giants in the summer of 2011 after a 6 year long spell at FC Schalke 04. He has won several trophies with the club which includes seven Budesliga titles, five DFB Pokal Cups, the Champions League and the Club World Cup. He was part of German team that won the World Cup in 2014.
He has been voted the World Best Goalkeeper four times since 2011, and in 2014 he was chosen as the European and World athlete of the year. Currently, Neuer is the captain of Bayern Munich.
Sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić said: “The contract extension is an important sign for FC Bayern as well as for Manuel. Together we have created a win-win situation. That’s what was very important to Manuel and to us. Manuel stands for the continuous success of FC Bayern, for responsibility and world-class standards. I am delighted about our continued work together.”
The question remains what is the fate of young Alexander Nubel who is reportedly on his way to FC Bayern?
Never really saw him going somewhere else anyway. Top class player in a top club.
Although I feel he has a few years left at the top level. Still his value is immense
